What Is It? The September Fund was established as a living memorial to the brave police, fire and EMT workers who perished on September 11, 2001. Any first-year college bound student who is the son or daughter of a Firefighter, Police Officer or Emergency Medical Technician and who lives in any state in which The Corey and Jay Show is broadcast on an affiliate radio station during the year of application, may apply.

What Does It Do? The September Fund is the direct recipient and beneficiary of monies raised by The Corey and Jay Show for the sole purpose of distributing scholarships to children whose parent(s) are either Police Officers, Firefighter or Emergency Medical Technicians. The criteria for applying, an application process, a review process and a subsequent distribution process to qualified applicants has been created and implemented on this website.

About The Scholarship Award: This scholarship is a non-renewable, one-time award. Individual scholarship amounts depend on the funds available each year. Receipients will be expected to attend an award ceremony on a day designated each year by the fund.

Funds distributed annually and the amount of scholar recipients will vary and depend on the amount of money raised during the fund-raising period between June and March of each year. Any monies raised during April and May of each year will either be used to pay for any expense the fund encounters or will be rolled into the following year's available funds for scholarship distribution.

The review of applications and the decisions for scholarship distribution will be left to a Review Panel of no less than 4 and no more than 7 members always including a Firefighter, a Police Officer, an Emergency Medical Technician, a teacher and those others as designated by the trustees of the fund.

Where Are The Funds: The September Fund houses its monies at Metropolitan Bank in Little Rock, Arkansas bank. A donation can be made at any time by going into any branch office and presenting a check for deposit earmarked for "The September Fund".

When Is The Work Done: Applications will be reviewed between April 1 and 30 of each year. Recipients will be notified subsequently and invited to a scholarship presentation to be held prior to May 25 of each year.

Non-Profit Status - The Internal Revenue Service has designated The September Fund as a bona fide non-profit organization. Contributions and donations are tax-deductible.
